Happy New Year!!!  We encourage you to become more phsically active in 2014.  Let the staff here at the Center for Wellness help you meet your fitness goals.  Whether you enjoy cardio exercise, strength training or group fitness classes, there is something here at the Wellness Center for everyone.  Start today and before you know it, exercising will be a regular part of your week.

Welcome to the Employee Wellness Center.  The school district established this center as a free service for all full-time, permanent employees  and retirees who currently have the school board insurance. The scope of this program includes group exercise classes, fitness assessments, cardio machines, strength machines, and outdoor walking/jogging.

Aerobics Classes

 ***Classes will run January 13 - February 21*** 

           Mondays:

           5:00 - 6:00 pm

 

          "Functional Fitness” with Travis Huffman

         A group-based class that involves various forms of training.  A variety of equipment is used including machines, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, treadmills, stationary bikes and more.  Training is performed in a group-setting but can be modified for each individual.   

 

        Tuesdays:      

         12:00 - 12:30 pm

"Circuit Training" with Carmen Gustafson

A circuit workout that offers cardio benefits and strength training all in one.  This quick workout will have you in and out of the gym in 30 minutes.

         5:00 pm – 5:30 pm

 

          "Metabolic Training" with Carmen Gustafson

A medium-high intensity, fast-moving class that rotates between strengthening exercises and conditioning drills. This class is an effective way of maintaining a raised metabolic rate, resulting in a more efficient burning of fat.  Bring a towel, water, and a light set of dumbbells (2-3 lbs) if you have one.

 

Wednesdays:

3:15 - 4:00 pm

"Aerobic Dance" with Carmen Gustafson

A medium-intensity aerobics class that offers a combination of dance and exercise moves concentrating on core strengthening.  Burn calories and have fun in the process.

5:00 - 6:00

Measurement Room

 

Drop by and visit our measurement room to monitor your weight, BMI and blood pressure.  We have a Tanita Scale that measures weight, BMI, body fat, and body water.  We also have a blood pressure machine and measuring tapes.  This is the perfect way to track your fitness progress weekly.
